We are always looking for volunteers to assist in the care and rehabilitation of pigeons in need.
Here are some ways you can help:
Aviary and crate cleans
Most of our pigeons live in a big aviary and we can always use help cleaning!
Our recovering pigeons temporarily live in crates that are cleaned twice a day.
Learning
Learn how to pick up poorly and injured pigeons, and even remove detritus from their feet with the York Stringfoot Pigeon Rescue Club, and give them a good feed while you’re at it.
Learn the way of the pigeon and either adopt some of our pigeons, we’re happy give advice about building your own aviary and pigeon care; or temporarily foster a pigeon that are recovering from illness and just need basic (indoor) care.
Newspapers
We get through a lot of newspapers – if you regularly donate a big stack that would really help.
Supplies
Help out by buying the flocks some food from our Amazon Wishlist or calling our supplier Thompsons who will keep it for us until we collect our next load.
